Our Story
Wandering Hop is a family owned and operated brewery with locations in Yakima and Zillah, WA. We turned this dream into a reality to bring our travels to YOU in the form of well crafted beers and food.
We started brewing 1/2bbl pilot batches every week for over a year in our garage back in 2015. We would take every batch to bar Owners and Managers for their input as we perfected our craft. In June of 2017 we sold our first keg to the Beer Shoppe on Yakima and began Self Distribution through the Valley. Shortly after that, in late September, we opened our Yakima taproom. Our Yakima taproom is an industrial feeling taproom with 12 taps, guest cider, food and is family Friendly now! We brewed 1/2bbl batches for nearly a year to keep our taproom flowing and local bars flush with kegs. In 2018 we got our 3bbl Brewhouse online and really increased production, allowing us more distribution and even more beers on tap.
In March of 2020 we purchased a second location to expand our production capabilities. The new location in Zillah, WA allowed us to increase production by nearly triple and continues to grow with additional tanks. Unfortunately, we purchased the building 2 weeks prior to the WA State Shutdowns due to the Covid 19 pandemic. We used the downtime to remodel and renovate the taproom portion as well as the production space. Mid April of 2021 we were allowed to open and sell our beer to the thirsty neighbors. Shortly after, in September of 2021 we brewed our first batch of beer on our new (to us) 10bbl Brewhouse.
Currently we find ourselves busy as ever operating 2 taprooms, self distributing throughout Washington State and Brewing as much beer as we possibly can. We have just started to get out and travel again, bringing more amazing brews and foods back to the Yakima Valley.
